Hyatlon Launches in Autumn 2026: A New Hybrid Race Backed by Triathlon Expertise
Friday, 4 September 2026 · 3 min read · HybridRaceCalendar Editorial
Hyatlon, a new hybrid fitness race created by an established triathlon organisation, opens its first season this autumn with four events across Spain.
A new name joins the European hybrid racing calendar this autumn. Hyatlon launches its first season in September 2026, and unlike most newcomers it arrives with serious pedigree: the series has been created by a reputable triathlon organisation with years of experience running mass-participation endurance events.
That background matters. Triathlon organisers live and die by logistics — course flow, timing accuracy, athlete safety and volunteer coordination — and Hyatlon inherits all of it. Expect tightly run race days, clear athlete communication and venues chosen for spectator access rather than just floor space.
The format splits into two distances. H6 is the entry-level race built for first-timers and gym regulars, while H8 extends the format for athletes who want a longer, harder test. Both keep the hybrid formula of running intervals broken up by functional workout stations, with individual and team entries.
The debut season is entirely Spanish: H6 Hyatlon Madrid opens the series on 10 October 2026, followed by H6 Hyatlon La Nucia on 24 October, H6 Hyatlon Gran Canaria on 14 November, and H8 Hyatlon Zaragoza closing the autumn on 28 November. Registration for all four events is handled through the official site at hyatlon.org.
With HYROX selling out arenas and ATHX expanding fast, the launch of a triathlon-backed series is the clearest sign yet that hybrid racing is becoming its own endurance sport category. We will be tracking Hyatlon's first season closely — and you will find every confirmed date on our calendar as it is announced.
