Race Day Nutrition for Hybrid Fitness Events

What to eat the night before, the morning of, and during a sixty to ninety minute hybrid race.
A hybrid race sits in an awkward window: long enough to deplete you, short enough that heavy in-race fuelling causes more problems than it solves.
Eat a familiar, carbohydrate-forward dinner the night before. Race morning, aim for 1-2 g of carbohydrate per kilogram of bodyweight, three hours out.
Thirty grams of carbohydrate in the 30 minutes before your heat is usually enough. Anything heavier tends to reappear during burpee broad jumps.
Hydrate to thirst with an electrolyte drink rather than forcing volume. Arena air is dry and hot, but overdrinking before a sled push is its own punishment.
